We’ve all been there before. Faced with a new year, we set out lofty goals. I’m no different. Each year, I have committed to live a healthier lifestyle and workout. This is so easy coming off the holiday buzz still full of turkey and pie.
Fast forward two weeks and the reality of how busy I actually am starts to kick in. Here’s where I start to lose the struggle. I become lost in work, family and errands. So much so that there is little time for anything else, let alone going to the gym. As I make more and more excuses for not following through with my resolution, I realize that if I don’t just commit to my resolution, it will be another lost one and a failure that I hate to admit.
Digging deep into my overwhelming urge to stick this through, I started visiting local gym sites. One of them with a great website had a option for me to book a trainer online. I was at work, so It wouldn’t have been appropriate to call. This was perfect, I scheduled the online appointment, felt much better and went on with my day.
That may have been the end of the story, but what happened next was the icing on the cake. I had completely forgotten that I scheduled and appointment for the next week. In fact, maybe I forgot intentionally. Either way, the day before I was set to come in, I received an email reminding me that tomorrow was the big day. Yes, an automatic reminder for me to keep my resolution.
I was able to make my class, have a great work out with a great trainer and learned that 90% of his clients book online. He said it was convenient for him because he didn’t have to disrupt a session to answer a call and it booked 24 hours a day. Best of all was the reminders made sure his clients showed up.
I’m sold, thanks to online appointment scheduling, I was able to keep my New Years resolution and live a healthier more active lifestyle.
