Owning a small business you have to think to yourself, how can I market myself effectively? 2. Know your audience. I keep saying this over and over again and I will continue to say it because it is so important, KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE! You must spend time and energy to know who your customers are, what they like, when they like it, and how they like it. If you can achieve this goal you can market to them with enormous success. Think about it for a moment. If you have a deeper connection with your audience then you can successfully predict what kinds of products they want before your competition. This lead in the market will ensure greater market share and increase sales. Simple as that.

3. Know your enemy. Okay fine, your competition isn’t your enemy but I like to be dramatic sometimes. Doing research on your competition is important to your marketing strategy because one function of a great marketing campaign is showing how you are different from the competition. You have to know what your competition is about before you can separate yourself from the pack.

Take these three easy steps and apply them to your business strategy. Even though you may not have huge budgets and teams of marketers you can still create a very effective campaign that will win over your target audience and separate you from the rest.
