There are three primary ways to add or modify data saved to Setster when the appointment is created.

  1. Structuring the metadata that is collected through the meta property in the Setting.json file
  2. Setting and prefilling the primary booking form field values like client name, email, phone, and address.
  3. Setting custom data hidden booking form field values that are created in either the Setster dashboard or the API.

Custom Data​

With Setster's custom data collection feature, you can create custom fields to gather any type of information you need from your clients. This can include things like specific service requests, preferred appointment times, or even dietary restrictions for a restaurant reservation.

Here's how to set up custom data collection in Setster Studio:

  1. Log in to your Setster Studio account and navigate to the "Data Collection" section in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click the "Add Field" button to create a new custom field.
  3. Choose the type of field you want to create (text, dropdown, checkbox, etc.) and enter a label for the field.
  4. If you want the field to be required, toggle the "Required” switch to the "On” position.
  5. Click “Save" to create the new field.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for any additional custom fields you want to create.

Once you've created your custom fields, they will appear on the appointment booking form for your clients to fill out. You can also view the data collected in the "Data Collection" section of your Setster Studio account.
